some say component is better, some say vga is, from my own experience with component i've noticed the screen is really dark whilst playing a game, even when i put the contrast and brightness up. i never tried the vga hd cable yet but what i have heard from others who have used this cable say the colors seem washed out or something.
since i returned the vga cable i might as well just stick with component (for the mean time anyway) i need to do more research. thanks guys anymore comments would be appreciated. |

yeah your best just trying the component, and see what it looks like - if you are happy with the picture then thats great
Otherwise you can always try the vga cable.

I just bought a VGA cable for use with my pretty cheap AGM 17" TFT. I find the image VERY clear and colours crisp. Because the screen is 8MS i get no blurring or anything either.
I find it a much better quality image than my mates High-Def screen with HD component connections. Ben |

bought a madcatz vga hd cable, all i can say its has its advantages and its disadavantages over component hd,
the pictures much more sharper with this calbe but, the colors seem washed away and the pictures a bit blurred. cant return it though since i already opened the package.

I am running it at 1280x1024 as that is the native resolution of my monitor.
The washed out colours may simply be your monitor...? And the Dell TFT wont accept component HD! Ben |

might be worth trying to return it - where did you get it from? Can claim it's not fit for purpose if say it only works properly with certain TFTs and it doesnt say so on the box..worth a go
Make a fuss and most big retailers would take it back to shut you up.
