championship manager 03/04 will do it but he needs to know some1 to play against i think still,
otherwise theres a few web based jobbys that require you to log onto them once or twice a week |

And there was Sky Sports Football Manager where you payed a monthly subscription fee to play online. That folded aswell. Not sure whether any of the new soccer managers are online compatible as it requires a pretty complex system.
