    Handy cooler.

It's not so much the cooler that grabbed my attention but the 4 port hub, and various connectors that comes with it. Might be a handy item for someone, that likes having various things connected to thier 360.

    Game Expert Cooler.

Bare in mind that if you buy this you'll have to get new cables to work with it, as the HD/SD AV cable doesn't plug into the back of it (from what I've seen elsewhere).

Another "problem" with this device is that it covers up the mounting holes on the back on the 360 therefore there will be nowhere to mount the wireless adapter.

Suppose you could plug it into the new usb ports on the back or the front or front of the console but this isnt ideal I guess.

This is what I'm planning to get for my console as it doesn't block the HD cable and looks just as good

it has also been known to melt the back of the 360. As long as it is well venilated there is no need for additional cooling.

I'm under the impression that using the Cooler will void your Xbox 360's warranty.

I dont see the need for one?! My 360 is on all the time, surely if it needed additional cooling its microsofts problem not ours.

Not heard that one before... I see no reason why it should void the warrenty, all it does is attach to the back, the box is not physically modified.

The one Lee @ Scan posted looks like its in a better position... now if that had digital output as well that would be sweet.

Here's an article about it voiding the warrenty: http://www.xboxic.com/news/1879

Nyko responded by saying they will replace a 360 if it is found to have been scorched by the Cooler, here's an article about that: http://www.xboxic.com/news/2001

    Ah, now that makes sense.

Good of them to offer to replace the 360s which have been damaged by them, they must be pretty confident in the cooler.

Do 360's actually overheat then? It's ridiculous if they do.

I've never had overheating issues with mine. Aparently prolonged play with games that have alot of textures to load like Oblivion can heat up the box but not to an exent that it damages it. I think most cases where it does overheat is due to the enviroment that its in, tight spaces with little airflow, hot rooms etc.
