    BF2 Page FIle Usage :s

    Hi All

After a fresh reinstall and updating everything I have noticed that BF2 has become 'choppy' I think i can put this down to BF2 hogging resources and using virtual memory :s

I only have 1Gb of RAM but in the processes window it shows 1.2Gb is being used. This is quite annoying as it makes the game choppy in places, which I first put down to ping, but now that is illiminated it only leaves this RAM thing.

Can I get battlefield and all my other programs to only use System Memory?

    Cheers

    Ian

You sure its not the page file usage your looking at in Task Manager? I don't recall BF2 using up that much RAM. What is the current size of your page? General practice is for it to be double your physical memory.

Drop the textures a notch and a maybe a couple of other things and it should fit in your RAM. When you turn the BF2 video options up the RAM usage jumps from about 600meg to over a gig.

Or theres loads of cheap DDR in the FS forum.

You cannot run BF2 at high quality without it spiking past a gig of ram usage.

Make it ugly or get more ram if the occasional stutter is bothering you.
