Question CS:S - I cant save favourite servers

CS:S wont let me add servers to my favourites list. I add a few, then look to find my favourites list empty. Am i missing something?

EDIT: I can see them in Steam, just not CS. Is this normal?

It is a bit tricky but a work around I use is in your favourites list set a filter for VAC protected games. that should make your favourite servers show up.

Mine does that from time to time, some are saved just in steam, while other show in both. Its quite random but never bothers me as I always connect through steam and only actually have 2 / 3 servers I play on.

if you go to the steam window on desktop, not in game, then right click the tray icon or go to view > then servers. then while out of game you can view all the servers and if you click on favorites in that window, then you will be able to see them once you are in game, works for me everytime.

try and checking the folder permissions under the \*account name*\CS:S\

and make sure they have the permission of write

it is likely as there 2 different files one for steam and the other for counterstrike

    hope this helps!

You guys are over complicating the matter. My response works. it is just the weird way steam has set the favourites system. It was changed to this way in about march last year. All you need to do is make sure that in the filter settings (just click change filters) the section for "Anti-cheat" is set to "Secure". Then hit refresh and your servers will appear.

Steam = Dire Never does for me. And loads of other bugs. But I still use it

I have found that if i load steam and run the game from steams menu it fine. If start CD from it's own launcher, steam loads then CD loads but i lose all my favs. Odd, but at least i works.
