Im suprised no one has done this as a Wii game yet

But why not have a few lightgun games for it? like time crisis and stuff? the controller is well suited to it, b to shoot, a to duck/reload

I would deffo buy it, as the multiplayer should be great fun, and no broken remotes as its only aiming involved

Not sure about games yet, but a gun addon has been has been showcased by Nintendo where by the Wii remote slots into the gun barrel.

Check out Wikipedia for more info...

i could see something along the lines of "point blank" ( a PS1 game) working quite well, actually

That gun attachment would be really cool - both my girlfriend and i love 'House of the Dead' type games, so that would be awesome! - And lets face it, no-one would give a toss about the graphics (ooh - jaggies) as it would jsut be a good laugh... Bring it on!

Metroid 3 will be using the Wiimote to aim on screen and the nunchuck to move. Don't you do the same in Red Steel?

Yes you do, i think ( i only played it very briefly), but by light gun i think they meant games like crisis, where you just point, shoot, duck and re-load, not action games.

I would love something along the lines of Time Crisis / Point Blank in the future, I haven't been able to play anything like that for sooo long (due to using a 100hz CRT in the past) .

Yeah, I think that the wiimote suits the shooting on rails game more, as you can concentrate on the shooting. Also, you wont have to contend with the "I have to point to the side of the screen to turn" syndrome...

Will be interesting to see if this comes out any time soon

I hope so especilay with 4 players and player specific targets (Wii Play style).

Or on the full FPS type thing with everyones Mii in split screen that would be fun.

I would like the shooting on rails, when me and my friends do the booze cruise every few months its tradition to play Time Crisis with 1 continue each.

Would be great on Wii, couldn't get on with CoD or Red Steel but others seem to like it so hey ho, different folks...different strokes.

We only have that problem because of poor control design by the developers of the very few FPS games currently out.

In my view, the best control layout would be; nunchuck to move fwd/bck and strafe, wiimote by default to aim, trigger to fire, hold down one of the nunchuck buttons and point to turn (no moving to side of screen, just hold a buton instead) and then the remaining buttons for whatevers left.

Much more intuitive i think..but cant be sure until a game with that layout option is released.
