    Gamecube on Dell 2407WFP

    Hey Guys,

I started playing on my cube again the other day (had an urge to play resident evil 4) so started playing it on my normal CRT TV, however when I move at the end of the month thats going and I'll be left with my Dell 2407WFP as my main screen for PC, 360 and hopefully cube however heres where I am having the problem...

S-Video is just awful, looks really bad

Component cables are no longer made (they look the connection of the back of the newer cubes) and seem to be going on ebay for £40!!

Do i have any other options? Is there a Scart (RGB) to component adapter (and would this look any good?) - After a bit of googling I found there IS a guide for cube to VGA cable, making it yourself, but site is dead

building a VGA cable is a dead loss, since the starting point is the component cable.

you can't directly convert RGB-SCART to component as they send different signals (RGB-SCART is R/G/B with sync on composite, component is Luma/Blue diff/Red diff with sync on luma). conversion boxes are ~£80

and don't forget that the component cable requires an older cube with "digital" output connector on the back alongside the normal one

how can they possibly justify £48 for a cable?! especially when the Wii one can be had for a little over a tenner

Buy a complete gamecube from a second hand shop - some of them will come with all the cables - and they're dirt cheap

why would a second hand shop take in a gamecube with an expensive import-only cable and not sell the cable separately?

I don't think that would work, when at gamestation we never took in consoles unless they came with a scart, as directhex said if it came with component it would be sold seperatly

Could be that I'm mistaking what's a component cable and what's not. My gamecube came with both a scart connector and a 3xphono cable connector - I assumed the latter was a component cable.

    That's composite, not component.

Once you've bought the wrong cable a few hundred times, you learn. Well, I did. Mostly.
