Xbox - Is it worth it?
Seen a very nice deal on amazon £150 for the xbox, rainbow six 3, halo, and mid town madness 3. I already have a PS2 and a Gamecube
, play on the PS2 regularly (PES 3, ofcourse) but the Gamecube is just sitting in it's box. Just wondering if the same would happen to the xbox if I got one. Any views from current Xbox owners? Thanks in advance! |

I owned a PS2, then bought a GC.
I always said "I'll never buy an XBOX, it's just a PC" I then bought an XBOX........ Sold teh GC coz I never used it. Signed up for the PS2 beta Online trial, and haven't even plugged the PS2 in since. XBOX all teh way at the moment for me. Titles such as Project Gotham Racing 2, SSX3 and Midtown Madness 3 are my faves at the mo. XBOX Live! simply rocks, there's no two ways about it. Looking back, I shoulda bought one earlier, although I did buy at the right time and got me a Ltd Ed Green XBOX

I'm on edge of Tilehurst/Reading.
The gfx are better than your average PC. The main point tho, is that you can pick it up and play, not boot windows, shut down any unneeded items etc. It jsut works!! And with XBLive! you can instantly jump into a game of whatever you fancy, no hunting mates/servers/decent pinged games/etc

Had an X Box for around 2 month and then sold it. Just didn't rate it at all.
It slows down and jitters really bad when you get alot onscreen, not really good at all. Yeah, theres a few titles which are X Box only but its nothing origional. If you have a half decent PC get the games that are available multiformat and get a gamepad to play them on. |

Re: Xbox - Is it worth it?
Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart Double Dash, Viewtiful Joe, Eternal Darkness, Rogue Leader, Prince of Persia, The Windwaker, Windwaker Bonus disc, Smash Bros Melee, F-Zero GX, SSX3, Soul Caliber II, Wave Race, Animal Crossing, Monkey Ball, Monkey Ball II, TimeSplitters II, etc, etc. Even taking into acount the multi-platform games, there's plenty of Cube only games out there. If your Cube's in a box, your buying the wrong games mate. ![]() Also look into getting a GameBoy Player for your Cube, and then you can play some real classics, like Super Mario Bros. 3, The Adventures of Link, and some modern games, like Advance Wars and Advances Wars II, which are, by far, the best pair of handheld games ever. Of course, that not even mentioning the handfull of top RPGs you can really get into, on the big screen with Cube and GameBoy Player.
If, on the other hand, the XBOX exclusives have you drooling, such as Halo II, or you really want to play some of the XBOX games you can't get on the Cube or PC (are there enough to justify the purchase?) then go for it. With a decent gaming PC and a Cube, you've got all you need, in my opinion. Last edited by Stewart; 17-12-2003 at 02:36 PM.. |

Halo & Project Gotham Racing 2.
The 2 reasons for owning an Xbox. If you are a serious gamer, the time spent playing these will easily out-weight the cost of buying the console. Saw an advert this morning saying that if you buy and Xbox at the moment you get Project Gotham Racing 2 FREE. FREE I SAY!! And Halo 2 is coming soon..... madmaca |

i dont have a console but if i did get one id go for the gamecube
my friends all say they bought there xboxs and ps2s for the action games like splinter cell and halo. but you can have all these on a pc whereas the cube is the only console with games like mario and zelda (the classics). but i was in business studies about a month ago and we were looking at companys on the internet so i went on to some crappy business site and it sed that nintendo is going broke! what! is this true!
