I heard nasty rumours (from not entirely reliable sources (me mate)) that Crysis has been put back till 2008? Any semi-informed thoughts on a rough release time?

I heard the same and i'm not suprised; it was unrealistic for it to be finished so quickly.

I can't say Im worried about it being too late. I know that crytek are good at keeping its customers upto date.

Theres always UT2007, Alan Wake, HL2:EP2 and Portals

Hmm... other than the obvious graphical loveliness of Crysis, there really isn't much else to this game.

They say you can cut trees with your gunfire well this has been seen before in several games (Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on the N64 to name but one).

Why has no one followed up that brilliant technological acheivement, Geo-Form? I thought this was a brilliant idea also, people no longer get injured, no more limping NPCs in games.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Crysis is crap, far from it, its just that after seeing the videos on Hexus.tv I'm kind of disappointed, it just doesn't seem like a big step forward over the original or indeed any other game.

I believe more attention should go into proper evironmental damage like craters left by large explosions etc. and have people limp when shot in the leg.

Anyway, Amazon don't even have proper box-art for the game so don't get your hopes up thinking its coming out anytime soon...

PS. DonnagE, your PC is more than prepared for Crysis in the meantime, try FEAR Extraction Point or Rainbow Six: Vegas

Crysis like Far Cry supports deformable terrain, and adds destructable buildings.
If you want realistic player damage models, you might want to check out the Crytek supported mod for Crysis; Obsidian Edge 2
I would post a link but I dont have enough posts for URLS yet...

Lol, I have them both. Im waiting till I get my 11 days off to try and go back to rainbow6. I didn't get on with the game the first 2 trys. Wasn't overly impressed with not having a jump button

Anyway. I look forward to new games all the time.

I don't know about that hsncool. but This game looks by far the most real to date. Just a shame I'll have buy a new OS and new GFX card to experience it.

Looks insanely good. Thats all I'll say about it.

Is there a HD trailer somewhere other than IGN? You got to pay for it on there.
