The possibility to connect ps2 to pc!!!!
Hi
I was wondering if you can connect the ps2 to pc via firewre or through ethernet cable? I would like to backup my old save games. So I can delete them for the latest games. If theres any software available to buy please tell me and i'll get it. I have a HDD in the PS2 and transferring PS2 games onto the HDD which is great because it loads the game quicker. Thanks Tush |

there's no direct way to do this.
you want a device by madcatz called the sharkport to do this with memory cards the gentlemen who chipped your console might be able to help if saves are stored on hard disk |

You dont need a chipped console to load games onto the HD. Just a network adaptor and the HD loading software, linkage
IIRC, didnt the Sharkport only work on certain early consoles ? Another option is to get one of the USB saving devices. Then you can just drag and drop it on to your PC without any hassle. Somthing like This I've no idea if any old USB stick will work, or if it has to be made for the PS2 / needs an disk to work.

If you got HDL/HDA installed you could download a FTP iso which allows you to FTP into your PS2 and read (write!) to your memory card.
It should be roughly like this: (Non-modded/no swap) Open up the HDA FTP -> Copy the FTP ISO image to HDD -> Reboot and run FTP ISO as if you're running the game -> Connect using Flashfxp -> Copy your savegame to PC Guide (for modded/swap disc) http://www.packetnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=158 Agent is right you don't have to mod a PS2 to run games through HDD.
