Also delayed due to large chunks of source code being stolen.

If you're making a house, and someone makes a copy of your plans for themself, how much does that delay you?

if someone has plans to your house they can exploit any kinda structural doo hickeys, in the case of hl2 it means people can (theoretically) circumvent the steam security type checking, aswell as create hooks such as OGC as they have the source code rather than already-compiled stuff.

basically valve were never going to be able to release hl2 for its september deadline, the stealing (of a copy) of the source code is just another setback as they will have to recode lots of stuff (well hopefully!) to avoid people exploiting it when its released.

Well, what you do and do not believe is irrelevant. One of the stated reasons for the game being delayed, is the very real happenings of a few months ago, when the source code was stolen.

So we have to use that as a reason, when discussion the delay, and possible release date.

The game running badly on Nvidia cards is a DX9 problem in general for Nvidia cards, not just Half Life II. Also, Valve have jumped into bed with ATI, by giving the game away with various 9600 and 9800XTs, so I'm not all that sure that this delay is to allow Nvidia to correct the cock up.

Also, no warez discussion please Unrealrocks, as per the sticky at the top of the forum.

Not effectively stolen as if it was stolen then they wouldn't actually have it anymore. It was just copied. I think the delay was still not entirely justifed though, not of this length anyway.
