I use everest and can't find the northbridge temp, I find an "Aux" temp but I don't know what that is.
I think its one of those temps you'll never know as I still cant find a piece of software to find the temp on my quad gt.

Reckon I'm on the right track with a lowly e6400?

    Temps currently at ~53C

Hopefully Orthos will run fine over night.

    good question.

It should be 5-5-5-18@800MHz, but I left the timings on Auto in the BIOS. It seems stable at the moment, is it worth changing?

5-5-5-18 on geil ultra? If its working ok you can always try it at 4-4-4-12 To be honest, the timings dont make a huge difference to speed.

    I don't think I can reach 3GHz, might try about 2.95GHz.

Still got Orthos on, I think it finished all the tests and has started again.

EDIT: Oh right you mean I left Orthos on? I wasn't using the PC so I just left orthos on, just wondering if it starts the tests again once it finished all it's cycles.

No, it carries until you stop it or turn off the pc.

Hmm, have you got the mem voltage set right?

You may also be at an fsb hole, which is just a small part of the fsb range where its not stable, so you could always try higher, to avoid the hole, try 400fsb with the vcore set to auto and the ram voltage set to whatever it is supposed to be, and give the Northbridge a bit more voltage, but keep an eye on the temps and see how you go, or if you dont feel adventurous, try it at 380fsb or 390fsb.

Got past the first 30mins on Orthos. Normally fails straight away, so it's looking good so far.

I cant see why you cant get over 3ghz, you arent near the rams limit, cpu should have some overhead left. Did you try giving the northbridge som extra voltage?
