Just built this pc and it run great. Everyting work well in this hardware set up. I did alot of cheaking on hardware before I built it and thank for all the good info from this site I can make it run like a top. Good info guys and thanks alot for the best overclocking info on the web. If you need a case with alot air moving check out the
ANTEC NINE HUNDRED this site will not let me post the url yet but it is under MY System. I also put a 120mm fan in the side of the case so I have two 120mm in the front, two in the 120mm back, one 120 in the side and a 200mm fan in the top. Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
I just overclocked my e4400 up to 3ghz and now my temps are at idle 50c under moderate usage mid high 50's and after a few hours of gaming 65c is that a temp to be concerned with or is it ok before i overclocked this cpu temps where around 34c most of the time low 40's during gaming. And yes im still useing stock cooler for now even if temps are abit high it is rock stable

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
Great guide!
Im pretty new to this scene so I searched for a OC guide and found this one to be the easiest to follow. Thumbs up! Now, I followed the guide, did everything accordingly and yet, my computer would NOT OC whatsoever. The BIOS says something while CPU-Z shows the standard setup. Whats the deal? Something isn't quite right here. Any ideas?! ![]() ..and yes: I followed the guide exactly! |

You can use photobucket.com to host your pics, then link to them in here. Mind you, if you dont have many posts, that may not work...URL should still be visible though.

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
This forum actually requires me to post min. 5 posts before I can insert an image or URL because of spam bots. Heres a URL to setup if you fix it

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
So...you haven't set your RAM's Voltage or timmings (memory Voltage set to AUTO and in the RAM Timmings, says set by SPD)
Have you disabled Speed Step? I'll let Clunk sort you out...if I get too involved I will be out of my depth and pi$$ Clunk off!

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
Memory Remap feature and Configure DRAM Timing by SPD are both disabled. Speedstep is disabled (one of Clunks Troubleshooter points).
I've done my homework regarding the guide but something is fishy here. It might just be a "Doo'h"-moment here but I can't see whats the problem. I have BIOS v.0614, which I've read countless places is the best BIOS for OC with P5B. Last edited by Go|iath; 09-09-2007 at 04:48 PM.. |

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
Ok, well, looking at the pic in that URL, you havent followed the guide. It stresses over and over to manually set the RAM voltage, and timings, and you have the RAM voltage at AUTO, which is 1.8v and most likely the cause of your problems

Re: C2D Overclocking Guide for Beginners
Huh? Which part og the guide did I miss?! Ok. So, I've checked out my memory and it has an sticker saying v2.1.
Should I set RAM voltage to v.2.1? Thats it? |
