Asrock 4core dual VSTA + 8800GTS

I have a 4core motherboard and just bought an EVGA 8800gts to replace my 9800 pro AGP.
Problem is every time I install the drivers for Nvidia in windows, screen goes blank, and PC crashes.

I have dual boot winxp and vista, and it does the same on both.
On vista however the image effs up first then it crashes.
Also the bios screen and all the pre-windows screens load up very slowly compared to the 9800

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

able to test it on someone else's machine?

Have you got the power cables attached to the gfx card? What PSU are you using?

Its a tagan 480W. I've read plenty of people with less than that running them. And i only have E4300,1 dvd and 1 HDD

and yes I have it plugged in. Shouldn't it not even post if its not plugged in?

Just been googling and found out its not on the asrock compatibility list, but what would make it incompatible?

Well I got the DS3P moptherboard, now and it works perfectly with it (same windows install same everything else)

so i guess it was the motherboard.

Just about to advise a mobo change

The Asrock Dual boards are a bit 'el cheapo' and justice to the card would not be done on a board like that.
