    Corsair 520W
    Looking to buy this PSU to replace an Antec 430W for added silence. The corsair is to be used on a Asus P4C800E Deluxe (S478), do i need any adapters etc for the mobo power, or does the corsair have it?

    It's not the PSU, it's the motherboard that's not up to date as it's only 20pin. However the PSU has a 20 pin adaptor/portion of cable so it's okay.

    The Corsair is a Season M12 so has pretty similar noise levels, almost nothing to pick between the two. How does the corsair compare to the seasonic S12 series though, in terms of noise? Something around the 400-500w mark.

    If you're after 400W then a Seasonic S12 430 is the best bet.

    Alternatively, Nexus have bought out a 400W modular psu. I haven't seen any reviews as yet but looks good on paper.

    The Seasonic S12-430 seems to get quiet loud under heavy loads, think ill go for the corsair, seems to be the king of psus atm and it will be more future proof.

    I know But the S12 and M12 use different fans, an Adda in the M12 and Yate Loons in the S12.

    corsair make RAM and a weird hardware projects, unless they buy an amazing company you can expect dedicated power companies have better product cheaper.

    The S12 from mid 2005 have Adda fans, not Yate Loons.

    The Seasonic M12 (I've checked the 500W and 600W at Scan) are more expensive than the Corsair models even though made by same company. Not sure if this is due to the 60mm fan the Seasonics have which the Corsairs lack.

    I would go for Corsiar over Seasonic - just my opnion

    Well how many companies make their own power supplies, answer hardly any, very few PSU oems around.
