| What memory to go with the P5b deluxe? My planned upgrade from all the advice on this forum was to get an E4300 & overclock it. Asus p5b deluxe and 2gb on ddr2 pc6400 memory. (I don't plan on overclocking the memory). I just been looking at the memory compatibility on asus website and not sure if I have to buy from the qualified vendors list or can I get anything? What is the best value memory I can get that is compatible with this board? Many thanks |

| You dont have to buy from the qualified vendors list. Just choose the memory that fits your specification and budget. The only thing you need to bear in mind is the default voltage required by the memory to operate. Some boards dont deliver the required voltage from default, leaving you with issues when booting the board for the first time, as you cant get into the BIOS to up the voltage. |

| Has developed fish hoof. | Any decent branded memory with something like 4-4-4-12 timings will be fine. If you plan on overclocking the cpu, then something like pc2-6400 is what I would suggest, especially as you can pick up 2x1gb for 70 quid now. |
