    Ps. In my other computer with P5K dlx I put in OCZ PC8500 and I just altered the DRAM frequency and it all worked fine (and it worked in my last P5B dlx mobo also)... so this tweaking is really something new to me.. Ds.
    Always glad to help.

    Yes, you use a divider, but some dividers arent stable at certain frequencies, so its a case of finding the nearest one that is stable once you have reached your final overclock on the CPU.

    But in this case I am not interested in overclocking the CPU, I just want my memorysticks to run in 1066

    A quick query..

    Anyone with a P5K deluxe have any problems booting with a FSB higher than 375? I haven't sucessfully managed too.. just goes black, and I need 2 reset the cmos.

    Could it be related to using 4 dimms?

    I cant really think of anythin else, as the spec is of a decent level

    Yes, just choose a divider.

    Leave the FSB at stock, and set the divider to 1066.

    Need more details of the system, and your current bios settings.

    Clunk, is this what you mean ???

    Asus P5KC, Crucial Ballistix DDR2 2x1GB PC8500, QX6700

    Manual for mobo here -> http://dlsvr02.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...e3155_p5kc.pdf

    Page 4-16...

    Ai overclocking -> Manual

    FSB Frequency -> 266

    PCIE Frequency -> 100

    DRAM Frequency -> DDR2-1066

    DRAM Timing Control -> Manual

    CAS# Latency -> 5

    RAS# to CAS# Delay -> 5

    RAS# Precharge ->5

    RAS# Active to Precharge -> 15

    DRAM Voltage -> 2,20V

    So this settings should start up the machine with no overclocked CPU but with memory in 1066MHZ ?

    Yes, providing that everything else is working ok, that should work fine.

    Nope, these settings did NOT work, what can be wrong ???

    I have tried 2 different makes of DDR2, Corsair Dominator and Crucial Ballistix

    After POST, incompatible CPU press F1 to resume, after that corrupt file, file missing...

    Please help me

    incompatible CPU press F1 to resume
    often means the DMI is corrupt.
    Have you tried clearing cmos, then re-entering the above settings. Don't forget also if you take option [f2] to load defaults, then any custom changes made will be lost.

    And often indicates memory problems as well. It could be a problem with the memory slots, or not enough voltage, damaged memory (yes 2x sets).

    Can you just confirm that you are using the BLACK SLOTS!?

    Can you try adding a notch of voltage to the Northbridge as well?

    Hi mates,

    I have the exact same problem as you Mark319,
    how did you solve this?

    CPU-Z stuttered between 1600 with multiplier x6 and 2400 with multiplier x9 with the originally supplied bios (202)

    I updated to 404
    No stutter any more, CPU-Z now permanently shows 1603,7MHZ, 267,3 x 6 rated fsb 1067,1

    I REALLY need your help mates, how do I solve this?

    Oh yeah, some nfo, Q6600 stepping 7 revision B3 according to CPU-Z
    Mushkin XP-8500, I have mounted 2 x 1GB sticks in the yellow slots (Have two additional, as soon as it works properly I wanna mountem)
    Seasonic 80+ 650W
    Thermalright ultra extreme 120 (Arctic silver 5 lapped) push'n pull config

    Wuzz up with this?

    Hi mate,

    Yup, I disabled "Intel (R) SpeedStep (tm) tech.
    I still get 1600 x 6...

    Is EIST another name for the SpeedStep setting?

    Thanx 4 your time and help, I greatly appreciate

    CPU Ratio Control – This just lets you choose the Multi, you can also do this on the main Jumperfree BIOS settings page.

    C1E Support – Disable this, it just isn't needed when overclocking.

    Max CPUID Limit – Disable this, its for older P4 CPUs with Hyperthreading, and older operating systems.

    Vanderpool Technology – Disable this, unless you specifically need it, find out if you do, by clicking here.

    CPU TM Function – Disable this. I can find no use for this with C2D, apparently it was to throttle older P4 Prescott CPUs. I have always disabled it on every C2D board with no problems whatsoever.

    Execute Disable Bit – I generally disable this, but it is up to you. If you experience instability with it enabled, try disabling it. You can find out more here.

    PECI – I usually disable this. I have tested this with several CPUs and have been unable to find any use for it. Enabled/Disabled doesn't affect my temps in any way, and no throttling occurs. If anyone knows any different, please let me know.

    Intel ® SpeedStep (TM) Tech – Disable this, generally, it doesn't play nicely with overclocking.
    Disable the ones in bold, and that should sort it.
