A screenshot would be helpful ![]() You will need 5 posts to be able to post links though, so just post what you can. What PSU is that? |

| Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On I’ve had absolutely no luck with my P5KC, most of the problems are memory related. Can’t get stability at the 1150mhz rated speed of the Reaper 9200 (5-5-5-18 2.3v) even using the two black slots. Even then though while it can run OCCT OK, Orthos fails after 1hr 30 testing both RAM and CPU. (CPU only is no problem) |

| Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On Hi Clunk, One question. I've overclocked my OCZ reaper 8500 to 1066Mhz. One of those things I find strange is that the asus P5k says its 'native' 1066Mhz for ram, what does this mean? because my ram IS 1066MHz but when i install it, cpu z still reads 800mHz, so i overclock it to 1066 and the 'SPD' tab on CPU-Z says "Max Bandwidth PC2-6400 (400Mhz) , what does this really account for? Shouldn't it read PC2-8500 (533Mhz), ? Any advice on this would be great because my ram is now at 1066 and asus p5k is supposedly 'native' (not sure what this means) and i was hoping to stretch it to maybe higher. thanks so much!! |

| Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On Many thanks for this guide. I'm moving over from a 2.75 gig opty165 and haven't used an intel chip since my 866 p3 so this was an ideal guide .I now have my e6750 running 3.2gig idle temps 20c dual orthos load temps peak @ 40c ambient 20c , on auto vcore, using a freezer 7 and geil pc2-6400 low latency on a plain p5k how much further do you think this will go on auto vcore? and what could be estimated as the the full potential of this setup i.e whats the max you think i'll get off this setup? ps hw do i take a screen shot of orthos cpu-z etc ![]() Last edited by silver tongue; 12-09-2007 at 07:20 PM.. |

| Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On hey Clunk, Read your guides both on ram and overclocking, so if i understand correctly, my SPD tab on CPU-Z is basically correct when it reports PC2-6400 (400Mhz). Even though i've set my timings right (5-5-5-15) and voltage at 2.35v. Then overclocked it, by upping the ram frequency, so basically technically its overclocked already done, but SPD will still report it as PC2-6400, is this right? Just to confirm, I'm guessing there's no way to change the Max bandwidth to PC2-8500. Thanks! |

| Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On have been running it for a few days. Haven't had chance to do any real benches. Not seen much in here either Asus P5K Deluxe - Intel P35 Bearlake + E6600 B1 / Q6600 B3 release seems pretty underwhelming, generally see a few benches. | Re: C2D Overclocking Guide For Beginners P5K Add-On Since P5K premium uses DDR2 does it affect the ram settings or I should be fine with the first post settings? Also, I haven't overclocked my system yet and I noticed the Mobo temp hits 45-50, should I add the little fans on the heatsinks that I got with my mobo? My system info is as follows: CPU: Q6600 G0 Mobo: Asus P5K Premium Ram: 4GB dual shared OCZ Gold Vid: X800XL Water cooled (soon to be upgraded to Geforce 8800 Ultra water cooled) Cooling: Zalman Reserator 1 (water tank removed internal pump) + SWIFTECH MCW50 VGA + Zalman ZM-WB2 CPU Block + Swiftech MCR320 with 3 X 120mm quiet fans + Swiftech MCP655 pump |
