No I mean what is the RAM that you are trying? Or is that the value select RAM?

You are also on an old bios, go here and grab a later one - 0503 should do it.

Bios 0404 gives perhaps the best performance, but is very unforgiving. Your probably far netter using 0311 & twaeking. I've had totally stable 12hr orthos stable in 0311 but the same setting fail in 0404.

0503 seems a little better than 0404 but to be honest, i try them all but end up back with 0311

I had the exact same problem as yourself on my p5k deluxe and posted in this thread a long time ago. Sometimes the system would boot but no display output. Sometimes I would get an OCing failed message even though I was running everything at stock.
Flash with the following BIOS, BIOS 0123 which was the first BIOS released for the p5k deluxe (came on the CDs with the first batch on P%K Dlx's:

    http://www.sitalchauhan.pwp.blueyond...Other/0123.zip

With this BIOS flashed your system will boot up perfect every time and the problems will completely disappear.

What I did was flashed to this BIOS 0123 with all default bios settings, then set all my settings and voltages manually in the BIOS and had my ram in the black slots. Then flashed the BIOS to the latest with all bios settings manually set, and then everything worked perfect on the new bios version. I can now even overclock everything without any problems.

However, for some people no matter what, only BIOS 0123 would work and all other would have the same problems. You can either just stay on 0123 until they possible find a solution, or RMA your board. People with this exact problem have RMAed their board and their replacement's have worked perfect...

I am almost certain 0123 supports Quad core because the P5K deluxe supported quad core on release and 0123 was the release BIOS.

I was experiencing the excat same problem as you but solved it by doing as I said.

Here was my post in this thread a long while ago:
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...87#post1135487

And here are 2 other threads that helped me get around the problem aswell:
    http://www.hardforum.com/showthread....1629&t=1200834

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=147927

I bet your system will work perfect in all of the latest BIOSes when running just 1 stick of ram as that happened with me aswell, but as soon as i put the 2nd stick in i would get problems. But both sticks were 15hours memtest perfect!

You might also find you can boot ok with a single ram module in, change bios settings then check it fires up ok & add back 2nd module.

I've had "no Display" a number of times , it appears to be a memory failure, although the modules are ok. The above has sorted me. Last occasion was tonight , was probably the worst occasion. Ended up pulling out battery & clearing cmos.

Finnaly started with single module, interestingly i pushed the module slightly from the side as it powered up, not sure if it was coincidence.

My experiences are pretty similar to the final post

It says 0501 is beta as well. Any reason you dont want to use them?

I'm think that the shipping bios doesnt support the G0 stepping quad. If, after a CMOS clear, it still isnt working, and you have already done what we said (memtest etc), then you will either need to borrow an older 775 CPU and flash to the later bios, or RMA the board. If you RMA to the retailer that you bought it from, they might refuse it and tell you to send it directly to Asus.

    Try:-

    1) Remove power lead
    2) Remove battery & move cmos jumper to clear position. Leave for 5~10 minutes, then replace & reset jumpoer
    3) have 1 ram module only in black slot, nearest CPU.
    4) plug in power lead & try booting. You should hopefully see the overclocking failed message. choose [f2] to load defaults.

If you don't get it to power up, repeat using other memory module.

    luck
