PLEASE HELP! ASUS p5k deluxe problem

i just finished making my first ever pc

some of th componenets used were:
    asus p5k deluxe/wifi
    quad core q6600
    P.O.V 8800 GTX
    2x2GB g.skill ram..

anyways, sometime when i boot up the pc, i get a VERY loud continuous beep...
this happened a few hours ago, but i jus turned the psu on and off, and then it went away.

i noticed it only happened when i went into bios, did something (nothing stupid) and then it restarted, then the continuos beep would occur.

now its gotten to the stage where even if i turn the psu on and off, the beep still returns.

can someone please help onto how to stop this occuring, and fix my dream pc.

btw, the pc has booted several times normally, and i;ve installed vista 64 bit, games like stalker, css, and i've updated all the hardware i can think of.

    PLEASE HELP!!!!

A long continuous beep means RAM. Trying booting with just one stick or even better, a stick of low end cheap stuff. If you have any.

Does it still do it if you restore the factory BIOS settings?

not necessarily, it could be getting warm and causing a loose connection or you may have accidently knocked the box and something has come loose.

i would take the Graphics out completely, and reseat it again, making sure all the wires are correctly connected.

    Matt.

As Matt says, only I would take the motherboard out of the case and build it all up on cardboard.

While the motherboard is out, check that all the standoffs are fully screwed in, because you could have one that is higher than the rest and that is making the board bend, and the graphics card not sit properly.

    That was my next suggestion

Take the card out first, if that works great, if that doesn't then go for the full Clunk experience
