overclocking p5k deuxe and quad core

hi i've just followed all your steps on clunks p5k oc'ing guide.
im currently at the time when u open cpu-z and look at the memory section (just after part 1)
but my cpu-z shows i have ddr3 type memory ad that my frequency is 712.8MHz and my fsb:dram is 3:8
also its showing my memory timings wrongly..?

however in the spd tab, the memory slot selection shows its ddr2 ram...??

do u know what i can do to fix this?
    many thanks

    Have you updated the bios?

Update the bios, then clear the cmos, and try again

Well, your in the same boat as me. Did a bios update in windows & the mobo died.

I'v been reading up & the best\safest method of updating the bios on the P5K is ezFlash.

Looks like its RMA time for you

Sadly, NO, its a bummer I know.

You got a bios did not verify msg, Yes? then tried it a few more times with same result. the bios is screwed. It been mentioned on various P5K threads all over the net.

Dont let it get to you, once you'v built yourself a few systems, problems like this look like minor issues. Its a great mobo, one of the best I have used & I'v been through a few in my time.

i maybe wrong, but from memory the BIOS will try to read from the floppy/cd-rom after 5 mins or so, and you can flash it by putting the ROM image on there.

Use the Asus CD, it has the shipping bios on it. Just fire the pc up and leave it. In theory, it should be able to recover from it.
