Where is Nvidia with a DDR3 chipset?
For a long time now I have been waiting for the following motherboard to be released:
It supports 1333MHz DDR3, 1333MHz cpu and Nvidia SLI. Finally 1333MHz DDR and cpu supporting motherboards are on the market, but they are all for ATI crossfire, and who would want to run ATI, when you can have 8800 Ultras... So Nvidia, where is my DDR3 chipset? Belgarath |

After the last lot of Nvidia chipsets on Intel, do you really want another?
And 8800 Ultras, there have been a lot of dead ones recently...ouch! |

Well, I am after the fastest gaming rig, and as ATI is lightyears away from beating a 8800 Ultra SLI system, I am kinda forced to use a Nvidia chipset.
Besides, I haven't had any bad luck yet building Nividia based systems... Belgarath |

Remember how awful the 8800s drivers were when they were first released? |

Linkage?
So far all I've seen is inconclusive about DX10 performance.

LOL Clunk
![]() First link: http://www.digital-daily.com/video/d...ark/index3.htm It is rather inconclusive of course, almost irrelevant at the moment - we can't really garner much from DX10 as they won't spend much time developing drivers while it's a platform that's hardly used. As more titles are released, both drivers will improve. That said, it's fair to say the HD2900XT is a much better performer (compared to the 8800s) in DX10 than it is in DX9. |

However, from this link, I could just as easily come to the opposite conclusion. But, I didn't start this thread to discuss which vid-card is better, I just wanna know when Nvidia is gonna come out with a ddr3 capable chipset. Belgarath |

Mind you - I would say that - I've just bought an 8800 GTS ![]() I was hoping it would be a bit faster TBH as I upgraded from an ATI 9800 Pro. After all, it is about 4 years newer and the same price!
