I am looking at completing my new build within the next few weeks. However I do not know what 4GB kit to go for. I am aware that there are very good 2GB kits e.g. the Crucial Ballistix. I would like to upgrade to 8GB sometime in the distant future 3-5 years time, without having to throw ram away or sell on auction sites. I have a budget of between £200-£225. The ram must be at least DDR2 PC2-6400. At the present time main system parts look like: Motherboard: Asus Blitz Formula SE Processor: Q6600 G0 Processor Fan: Thermalright Ultima-90i Graphics: 8800GTS 640MB These parts have not been bought yet. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Need advice for 4GB (2x2GB) Ram Kits depending on the screen resolution you might not need the 640mb version of the GTS. The 320mb is a good preformer on 1680 x 1050 and below. This falls in your price range http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=632574 Bit cheaper here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=813 Some stuff here which should be good http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=813 I quite like geil so my recommendation would be this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=8&subcat=813 EDIT: one more. I think this is supposed to be quite good http://www.microdirect.co.uk/(17793)...CL5-55515.aspx Last edited by staffsMike; 24-08-2007 at 03:22 PM..

Re: Need advice for 4GB (2x2GB) Ram Kits Just a thought - in all likelihood when you come to upgrade RAM in 3-5 years the likelihood is that DDR3 will be the dominant force. This may affect your decision is all, just wanted to put some perspective on things. Please consider sponsoring me to run 10k for the Alzheimer's Society, it would mean a lot to me.
