which ram?

ok im looking to upgrade my PC2700 crucial ram to something better (at least 3200) as its currently my ram stopping me getting high fbs speeds

my question is which to get? is there much diff between the twinmos 3200 kit and eg the corsair one other than £80 and heatspreaders?

will the twinmos stuff still let me get up to 200fsb o/clock?

and what about the really high end stuff (the 4000/4200) whats the clock of this ram and is it worth the £££ ?

any help would be appreciated

(PS also any info on how much my 2x512meg of crucial 2700 ram is worth?)

PC3200 isn't actually overclocked at 200FSB, thats its stock speed. PC 2700 is 333MHz, and PC2100 is 266MHz. So The twinMOS kit would be fine at 200Hz FSB speed. Ive got my system at 200MHz with PC3200 TwinMOS and its fine, though doesn't seem to like going much higher than 200.

Get the corsair, as it is cheaper that OCZ, will be good, as it has ultra tight timings. Twinmoss would be good, but if i had the money i would go for corsair, just that little bit more quality.

I've got mine at 200FSB on Crucial 3200, on 11\2\2\2.5 timings, hence the question.

What's the difference between buying Corsair TwinX stuff and buying 2x 512mb normal Corsair platinum sticks?

I run 2x256 pc3200 twinmoss at 200fsb easily can do more but i don't need more for the time being . So i would go with the twinmoss better value for money.

What about the Kingston HyperX ram???
This stuff seems to get good reviews: - Kingston HyperX Pc3200 KHX3200K2/512.
Apparently, you are guaranteed to get BH5 chips with that model number.
DON'T get any with if the model number has an A in it as this means it runs on the later Ch5 ram chips.

corsair is not worth £80 more just for lower latency!
twinmos is good, depedning on the chips you get. my p2700 twinmos w. samsung does 225fsb stable at stock timings.
ram with bh5 chips is known for overclocking well and using v fast timings. if two manuf use the same chips, there product will be almost exactly the same. the hyperx imo is then the best if you want low latencys..

so lookin at my budget its either gonna be crucial or twinmos - which of these two works out better? I'm thinking twinmos as its cas 2/2.5 compared to the crucial @ cas 3.

any any idea on pricein for my old ram? (2x512 sticks of crucial pc2700)

We would have been very happy if it could have done tighter timings but 470MHz DDR, regardless is very good for PC3200 memory. Oddly, the memory only needed 2.65V to run absolutely stable at these high speeds. Almost all motherboards, that support overclocking, have options that go up to 2.8V. Perhaps someone else may have better results.'

did u get it from there? the good thing is with shop 4memory that all e mails are answered within a couple of days. when i had a problem with ram from there the communication was that good that it was like talking to jacob on msn cos he was replying to emails within an hour of me sending them.
Top company although delivery times are a bit slow in comparison to others.
