Have Antec Truepower 550w - Worth upgrading to Corsair HX 620W?
Hi, I have had the Antec truepower 550w for over 2 years and it has served me really well..i tried the power supply calculator and showed i used around 530w on full load which is really close to its limit.
Was going to go for the 700w ocz gamexstream but i heard about the bad rippling..so looks like its down to the Corsair now..is it worth me spending more for the Corsair HX 620w or keep my Antec for now? Cheers Roo Now running e6600@3ghz, 4 sata hd, 8800gts 640, 2gb ddr2, x-fi music, 4 fans, 4usb, dvd burner.etc |

Cheers Kalniel..might route a couple of the HDD's to external enclosures if i decided not to buy the Corsair.
Still mulling it over. |

If I am not mistaken, the Corsair are based on the Seasonic and comparable in noise.. which I found better than the Antec True-series I've previously used. If noise is an non-issue then by all mean stick with the Antec.

Noise is no issue here..like the whoosh of my front 120mm fan
Looks like i'm sticking with my Antec for now. Cheers.

If it aint broke don't fix it. Stick with what you have if it's stable. My rig (Athlon 64 2.0GHz @ 2.6GHz and 7800GTX) is running off a 300 watt power supply (my 450W Truepower died on me and I threw this in on the off chance...) It is currently rock stable - hasn't crashed in any way in months - so I'm not changing it until I upgrade (soon, soon) I get a warning each time I boot that the graphics card is not receiving enough power (no 6pin PCIE power lead on the power supply) , and I can't overclock it above stock, but since it's stable I don't care for the moment ![]() I'd be interested to know how many others are running on old/cheap/crap power supplies... [Oh and before anyone mentions it; I redid some benchmarks that I had stored and the graphics card is running just as fast as it always did - despite the warning message suggesting it has been slowed down.]

No, they're horrible. P/2 = P (Power/Wattage) divided by 2.
