    Wierd Ati driver problem

I've got a Connect 3D 9500 Pro with the arctic cooling VGA silencer - runs nicely at 350/300, however I've always had a problem with drivers.

Ati drivers are always a problem - take these latest 4.10s for example. no problem installing them, however If I try to increase the clock speed by any amount at all, my card will stop responding and VPU recover will reset the speeds to default 275/270.

Omega drivers ? No problem at all, always install without a hitch, no problem overclocking the card (temperatures permitting)

So why won't ATI standard drivers let me overclock ?!? any ideas !?!

Simple. They don't want you to overclock.

Since the 3.8 drivers most people have been unable to OC their card with the standard ATI drivers.

hehe. You think that they would want people to overclock really, that way more cards would get broken so people would have to buy replacements, but then I suppose they just do an RMA. Either way they put a end to it with the 3.8 drivers, the ones people were moaning about the heat issue with. The only people who had an heat issue were those who overclocked their card.
