Gears of War NVIDIA Drivers?!?
I just installed Gears of War it asked to install some NVIDIA forceware drivers version ending with .33. It said the game will eventually stop working and all progress will be lost so said install, it took me to the nvidia site i searched for the forceware drivers. It came up with some other version .74 (i think) installed it, restarted then the BSOD.
I managed to do system restore, but can anyone explain what happened? *I did install the one for my specific gfx card. My Rig - Dell 24" 2407WFP A04 (15th Jan 08) Antec 900 / Asus P5K-E / Q6600 G0 @ 3.0Ghz - AF7 / 2GB Corsair RAM / 520W Corsair PSU / Evga 320MB 8800GTS / 500GB WD Caviar / 250GB Hitachi Deskstar/ 200GB Maxtor

Currently running 169.01 on a 8800GTX Vista 32 bit and not experiencing any problems.
New Forceware 169.02 WHQL for XP/2000/Vista (x86 and x64) ... 05/11/07 - Guru3D.com Forums Have a look around the Guru3D forums and see if anybody else is having problems.
Gaming rig: Q6600 @ 3.2 Ghz, 8800 GTX OC BFG, QuadGT, Infiniti 720 watt, 2 GB 6400 Ram Geil Ultra, LianLi A10B case and Dell 2407 Rev A04 Tuniq Tower.
Sons Rig: E6600 Abit AW9D Max, FSP Epsilon 700 watt, Coolermaster 831 case, 2 Gb Corsair 6400, LG 22 inch WS Monitor, 8800 GTX. |

Running this on 7800GT before getting an 8800 gt or xmas.
Man, it's a f***ing dilemma, I tell ya: I REALLY want to play these games NOW, but on the other hand, I want to wait for the 8800 Gt to see them in their full glory. ARGH! Anyway.... have played this on Xbox 360 lots. SOOOOOOOOOOO much better on PC. As always. |
