To be honest, there were so many other problems with the quadGT, that it wouldn't surprise me if they discontinued it pretty quickly.

Supershanks kept his longer than me, and went onto the later BIOSes, which gave him slightly more success, here.

If you don't have any problems, that's great, but you are the first person that I have seen that hasn't had any at problems at all.

I was very interested in the iX-38 as new board that would support me upgarding to a quad core sometime next year.
However, after reading this thread, I'm very worried.
I'm willing to wait for the iX-48, but I need a new mobo now.
Is the IP-35 still worthwhile?

The IP-35 is a great board. You can't go wrong with it for £70.

Essentially you could spend £130+ or whatever X38's cost now or upgrade the IP35 in a couple of years if you feel the need, where the £50+ saved plus a little extra will buy you a far superior board to the X38

I am very happy with my Asus P5K-E board....
I have a quad and this board has 8-phase power which is needed to get a good overclock out of the quad...

I have had no issues running it for the last 3 months.. overclocked to 3ghz on retail fan.
