    building media centre woes?

hi i have a lil problem, im going to buy a 42 in panny,
i am in the middle of debating whether to build a media centre around a c2d or buy a home entertainment system

if i build the media centre will the 5.1/7.1 sound card and pc speakers be man enough to fill room with sound ? i dont want to upset my neighbours too much

wot graphics card will come with a hdi output ? i have a x850xtpe at moment

i want to be able to play hd movies /divx from media centre which would be easier than getting a home cinema system
how or wot would i use to upscale divx?
    thnx

DO NOT USE HEATHROW ENGINE CENTRE !!!

Upscalling isn't a problem, the PC should be setup to output at the native resulution on the screen, so the software will scale any source to match that. So it will also decode and dounscale, if apprpriate, any HD material.

The speaker question really does depend on the size of the room and the particular set of speakers you are using.

I built a media centre recently and am happy with it..although, i must admit there were a few teething troubles (still are!) on the way to it becoming an all singing all dancing machine. Upscaling is excellent as is my 5.1..

    Good luck with the build.
