    Xbox Speakers

    Hi all.

I've been hunting for a set of speakers to use with my Xbox 360 with no result. I would like to move away from my TV's inbuilt speakers to some quality surround sound gaming.

The only possibilty I've found so far is the Logitech Z-2300 but I've been unable to confirm whether they will be compatable. Does anybody else have a set of external speakers which they use with their xbox? Or am I looking in the wrong place and its my TV's compatability I need to look out for?

    Thanks

If you get yourself a 2.1 or 5.1 set with optical in you'll be fine.

I've got mine running through a full surround sound set, but you don't have to go that far.

The other option is to use a phono to 3.5mm jack adapter to allow normal PC speakers to be hooked up. Not as high quality and limited to 2 channel sound (ie No true 5.1)

Logitech X-530s come with an adapter for the xbox 360 or PS3 or any other console that uses the coloured cables.. so long as you use the cables and not a HDMI cable.

    edit:
they sell them in PC World for £40..
Buy the Logitech 970114-0120 5.1 Multimedia Pc Home Theatre Speaker System at cheap prices from PC World.

With optical though is there anything on the market for less then a few hundred quid? Everything which I've found so far with optical connections involves full home cinema systems.

So basicly I can get cheaper external speakers... but they'll be limited to stereo. If I wanted the full 5.1 experiance I need to part with a bit more of my cash?

    Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

    Thanks guys.
