Antec vs Antec (1200 vs sonata)

    Look at the beast!

This was the best I could do in tidying the cables in the sonata, it took me an hour to do:

    Don't laugh
The objective was to get it out of the way of the fans so airflow improves... I can't close the case anyway as it overheats and it physically doesn't close properly because I had to bend the metal at the back to fit the 9800gtx in

Well I am going to put in P5K premium, geil black dragon and E7200 in it. I will transfer 9800gtx from the a64/sonata build. Then will stick spare passive 7600gs into sonata remove all the hard drives and bingo NAS, once I buy 3 1TB drives. Then I plan to get 3 single platter drives in raid 5 for the 1200 build. Then I need to sell all the other drives

Hopefully, I can do it better than you. Your cable management is dreadful!

    I want Mike-style cable management

Only kidding, yours is not that bad, but its no Mike-style

I don't understand how some things are hidden, like fan cables and the case's front connectors. Please teach me the ways of the Mike-style, Mike. Please post that pic again and explain to me - please tell me the secret technique passed down to you from great-grandpa-Mike

At least link me to another post that contains a pic.. I have been looking but I can't find it*... despite the jokey nature of my previous post, I am actually serious, I am going to try and copy your cable managment in the 1200

*EDIT: not sure why its hard to find... since approximately 1 in 3** of your posts contains that pic
**Statistic might be slightly rounded up

Re: Antec vs Antec (1200 vs sonata)

    haha ok

pretty much just the mobo power cable changed on this one.

The 8pin mobo power cable now sits fairly hidden and flush with the mobo with the fan cable hidden behind it in the same way.
Mobo power is taped up tp look neater.
LED and switch cables are routed and ited behind the IDE and fed out from underneath it.

I did get some new pics, I'll post them up tomorrow if you want clearer ones.

Ahh so the front case connectors are at the bottom of the case/compartment.. and the camera angle is slyly chosen to hide them in the second pic
Are you stashing some cables in the hdd box too?

Re: Antec vs Antec (1200 vs sonata)

They were neat but I wanted the hidden away properly.

Nope, no cables hidden anywhere apart from the handy space either side of the PSU. They are routed behind the HDD trays obvious and are a little messier than I would like, but out of sight out of mind lol

There is 120mm fan sitting in the space under the dvd writer
