P4 newbie overclocking
Ok, I'm a p4 newbie, I've always run AMD before, and overclock them without too many hassels, so are there any differences between clocking an intel p4 and an AMD chip ?
My setup (when it arrives) p4c 3.2Ghz Asus p4c800 (std not deluxe, couldnt afford delux after the 3.2 ) 2x256MB pc4000 RAM, Aerocool 102 hs fitted with 2 x 25cfm 80mm fans.I know multi's are locked on p4's, so its fsb only, hence the pc4000, temps as always are what to watch. The main thing I'm curious about is voltages, I hear p4's aren't quite upto the same kind of abuse as AMD chips, so its gentle on the vcore, but what vcore is safe? and keep temps below 60, or lower ? Thx. |

I wouldn't go over 1.65V 24/7, the newer Northwoods tend to hit a brick wall on the overclock, increasing the voltage usually doesnt do much unless you are on Phase change
