NorthQ Black Magic Flex 850W PSU any good? Having just read the review for this psu on jonnyguru I would say that it seems like a great psu, however i've not heard of northq before and wonder what your opinions on it are. I'm looking at changing my psu as i want to put my Corsair HX520 into a build i'm doing for my brother and need a replacement. this stuck out because its currently £63.24 on the today only page. Any thoughts/alternatives at that sort of price range?

Re: NorthQ Black Magic Flex 850W PSU any good? NorthQ tend to make a lot of cheaper "copies" of other peoples good designs, in many areas, cpu coolers esp. Looking at that jonnyguru review he seemed very impressed with it. the bad points were, unkown Cap quality and Noisey (this is probably donw to the fan being load controlled rather than heat controlled) All depends on what you plan to do/power with it, personally I'd risk it if you plan on doing something that requires the power. aka the bargin-bucket-build Is now FINISHED "Are you suggesting that I can't punch an entire dimension into submission?" - Flying squirrel - The Red Panda Adventures

Re: NorthQ Black Magic Flex 850W PSU any good? well i dont really need the power. what attracted me in the first place was the price considering how powerful it is and it is a lot more than i need. was looking at overclocking my graphics card and trying to push my i7 more but not sure if what i've got will cut it. according to the psu calculator on the corsair website it suggests something with a bit more power

Re: NorthQ Black Magic Flex 850W PSU any good? Got one. I'm pretty damn impressed tbh. The fan isn't any louder than any of the other fan in my case. The modular cables are really nice, they look a lot better than the braided ones. It doesn't have a power cable though which I thought was random. All in all, at £63 it is a bargain, it is a lot cheaper than any other PSU at this rating, modular or not.
