Power consumption at both idle and load are noticeably lower:

4GHZ was also reached with some mild tweaking it seems using air cooling.

I think the article was pulled because it broke the NDA:

To sum the article up idle power consumption dropped by a third and load power consumption decreased bya round 10 watts.
Here is the working link to the review:

Some more reviews have come out:

Improvements include lower power consumption, better overclockability and an better memory controller which can now use 4 sticks of DDR3 at 1333MHZ.

It seems that a C3 stepping of the X4 945 is also out:

This is already a 95W processor so hopefully there will be some more idle and peak power consumption savings.
i have 4+ stable, what would you like cat?

temps are 28deg idle in a warmish room, 50deg load (see speedfan), voltage is 1.46 and the cooler is a corsair H50

just as a footnote, this is obviously the quick and dirty way to do it, ill be fiddleing with the fsb probably tomorrow as it makes quite a difference to the overall speed. im hopeful of getting a stable 4.06-4.08 kind of area without any more voltage as well, will have to see

clever overclocking is now underway. drop the cpu in mhz, bump the NB and HT and then creep it back up using fsb. stable and faster than last night - RAM has been fiddled too, mucho bettero
actually managed to get down to 1.45v too, havent tried lower but it may go a bit

Nice man. That is a hot (not literally) cpu.
