    Recommend me a PSU

    Hi,

I am currently using a very cheap and nasty PSU, and it turns out the 5V rail is sending 6.85V! Needless to say, I need to find a good PSU.

    I have an:
    Athlon II X4 620
    4GB DDR2 RAM
    2 SATA Hard Drives
    XFX ATI 4670 DDR2

I intend to get a ATI 6850 for Christmas, so please factor in that. Also I want the PSU to last at least 2-3 years.

I have a max budget of £55, but below that is preferable.

    Thanks,
    5867dude

    Re: Recommend me a PSU

I'm assuming you need something in the ranges of 500 - 600 watts? I would go with the 550 to be on the safe side. Personally I prefer anything Corsair or Enermax. They seem to be the best brands in the PSU world (IMo).

Corsair VX CMPSU-550VXUK 550W Power Supply (PSU) - 66.45 Inc VAT
    Scan code: LN19849

Corsair VX CMPSU-450VXUK 450W Power Supply (PSU) - £54.58 Inc VAT
    Scan code: LN19492

    Budget:

Corsair Builder Series CMPSU-500CXUK 500W Power Supply (PSU) - £46.94 Inc VAT
    Scan code: LN35692

Personally I would just go a bit higher and go with the 550 version as it seems to be the best one.

    Re: Recommend me a PSU

I would avoid the newer models from the Corsair CX series. The older CX 400W is better than the newer CX 430W which replaced it.

The CX 400W should do the job and is made by Seasonic:

You can get cashback on Novatech purchases from TopCashBack and Quidco.

There is also this PSU from Antec which is made by Seasonic:
