    65W TDP Llano CPUs incoming!!

It seems there is also a Llano triple core too:

    http://www.fudzilla.com/processors/i...sted-in-europe

The A6-3500 triple core seems to be around £75 to £80(2.1GHZ nominal speed with 2.4GHZ Turbo),the A6-3600 seems to be around £90 to £100(2.1GHZ nominal speed with 2.4GHZ Turbo) and the A8-3800 seems to be around £94 to £101(2.6GHZ nominal speed with 2.9GHZ Turbo).

The 2.6GHZ Athlon II X4 631X has also been released and seems to cost around £65 to £75 and has a disabled IGP.

Re: 65W TDP Llano CPUs incoming!!

A few British retailers have already started listing upcoming Llano processors, including the first Athlon branded processors based on the new 32nm core.

Listings include the somewhat controversial A6-3500 triple core
Which retailers are they checking? I can't find an A6-3500 or A6-3550 CPU listed anywhere

Re: 65W TDP Llano CPUs incoming!!

It seems that the 2.5GHZ A4-3300 and 2.7GHZ A4-3400 listings are starting to appear:

    http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...prodID=B715159

    http://www.lambda-tek.com/components...prodID=B715158

    A 45W 2.8GHZ AMD Athlon II X2 240e is around £47:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/264382-amd-ath...-ad240ehdgmbox

I suspect the A4-3400 will have similar CPU performance. You are paying around £13 for a 160 shader IGP which should be faster than an HD5450 and have better media decoding abilities too.

Here is a review of the Athlon II X4 631:

    http://en.expreview.com/2011/08/26/a...not/18910.html

It seems in this article they managed to overclock it to 4.4GHZ:

    http://translate.google.com.au/trans...2333_all.shtml

The CPU is only £66 on Ebuyer ATM.

I was quite interested in the comment on that expreview article that their X4 640 unlocked to 6 cores!

It does seem this is possible with some CPUs:

Do i have this right then, that is, the 631 is a 32nm Athlon II X4?

I don't think so. Looks like a fairly rare hex core, locked to 4. Still on 45nm.

Re: 65W TDP Llano CPUs incoming!!

CPU-World, or whatever i just checked rekcons it is 32nm - but with a 100W TDP - it can't be that much seen as it has no GPU surely?

Re: 65W TDP Llano CPUs incoming!!

The Athlon II X4 631 is a 32NM A6-3650 with the IGP. According to one of the reviews you can overclock it a fare amount. It looks like the stock voltage is probably quite high. However, people have to realise that most of the Llano TDP is the CPU and not the GPU.

The unlockable Athlon II X4 640 is based on Thuban.

    Sounds Interesting.

I shall be building again soon after this... errr hiatus of mine. Media PC is on the cards so this sounds like a decent low power chip.

I'll be calling on your help I'm sure CAT, I'm so out of the loop.
