    MOBO upgrade advice

Have been toying with replacing my ASUS A7V8X MOBO with a Abit NF7 V2 board, but am wondering if its worth the hassle. I need to take my current rig apart as the temps seem to have gone up, so needs a clean our etc, thought I might grab the chance for a cheap upgrade.

    Current rig

    ASUS A7V8X
    2 X 512 Geil 3200 DDR
    9800 PRO
    Barton 2500

If I change my mobo should I be able to overclock with this setup, or is my CPU going to limit me so much it isn't worth doing?
Would probably fit a Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu cooler to replace my old flower cooler.

    Is it worth it?

Depends really. The NF7 is an overclocking freindly board you should be able to get up to 3200+ speeds and higher depending on your CPU (2500 generally clock well).

But tbh i would keep your money and just try to increase your FSB on the Asus board. You wont get upto 200 MHz because the pci bus isnt locked but you should be able to get upto 180 MHz ish. Just do it slowly you dont want to fry everything plugged into the pci bus.

tbh if your getting a new mobo you may as well go for an A64 and ditch the Barton.
