im scared about the board and the weight on the riser that comes out of that slot for the skt 939, is that seriously strong enough for a hefty heat sink etc?!
also the chipset is very mediocre to be honest, personally i believe a single board that is specialised (and built for the job) will do better than that, and i wouldn't buy ecs for my own pc anyway. but innovation wise its a great idea! lol ![]() Mac fancier > white macbook base spec .................. It's not innovative, it's just stupid. Now if it would run both CPUs at the same time that would be something! Even then, I'd rather see a G5 and an A64, or even a 6502 Apple ][+?
As with PCI-E boards supporting both AGP and PCI-E, it's just a very bad idea. |

oh give the guys at ECS some credit. Its innovative (to an extent) and you can imagine PC builders keeping just one mobo instock for all theirsystem builds, and simply keeping the daughter boards with CPU's alongside in stock as & when they need them.
OK...its also more a show of "look what we can do" and might not be all powerfull, but credit where it's due.....its an idea

It is a bit pointless, who will actually buy this? Unless there will ever be link up (which is a no) then there is absolutely no point, unless you fancied changing round CPUs every 2 seconds.

It can be good for software developers? or for hardware developersmay be?
To see if the s/w is comatible with both processors i dunno crazy yes y not take it from a good chipset like via k8t800 or nforce 3 (heard nforce 4 is toobig to fit smaller than microATX)

Please, Don't ask for that one 'as a desktop'...its really not worth wasting your time asking, unless you're able to pay £££?

If this takes off they may just get the cash injection they need to start being competitive.
ATI were nowhere until that killer product, aka Radeon 9700 Pro, came about. It totally changed their position in the market and look where they are now, eating into Nvidias tasty and lucrative OEM market as well as producing the best of the best high end hardware. I'm not saying this will happen but it's all about the possibilities and perspective people!
