Sparkle nForce2 mobo - post error 94
My system has been running pretty well for a year or so on a Sparkle nForce2 400 motherboard (cheap but decent socket A board) but seems to be developing an issue during bootup where it gets stuck displaying Post code 94. This used to happen only very occasionally, then slightly more frequently (but a press of the reset button and it'd be fine) and now it's getting worse - I sometimes have to reset the board several times. Any help in locating the source of this problem would be appreciated!
p.s. plus if anyone knows of any info on the board that'd be handy too. I could not find any info on the Sparkle websites and emailing them resulted only in silence... |

What kind of bios is it? IIRC they throw different codes.

This is what I found on code 94...I'm pretty sure it's AMI, so assuming this info is correct and is the info relating to the "94" I see on my screen it's halting at...Hard disk setup complete. Going to set base and extended memory size. BIOS ROM data area check over.
I've set the bios to "halt on all errors" so I guess I could try disabling that... Code:
Error Code – 94 ACER (94)#5 shutdown. AMI (94)Hard disk setup complete. Going to set base and extended memory size. BIOS ROM data area check over. Compaq (94)Page registers seem OK. Chips & Tech (94)POD Bootstrap. Phoenix (94)Disable A20 address line.(Beep)=3-2-2-1 |
