    Nforce 2 Bundles

    Hi,
im finally going to order my Nforce 2 board this morning, but im still struggling to make my mind up. Im going to go for the Deluxe version, so i get the soundstorm, so its either the A7N8X-D, NF7-S, 8RDAS+, those are the only ones of those makes which have soundstorm right ? Or does the 8RDA+ have it as well ?
Anyway, i think its gonna be the bundles that make my mind up for me; since im not really into overclocking, and apart from that they all seem about equal.
So can anyone who has purchased one of these boards tell me what you got bundled ? I have checked the websites but there isn't always alot of detail. Do any of them give you round ATA 133 cables ? I tihnk i saw Epox was giving them with their 8RDA3+, but i cant get that board from where im buying my stuff.

Also this is what im gonna pay:

    A7N8X-D £92.24
    NF7-S £87.24
    8RDAS+ £91.36
    8RDA+ £75.20

Im also gettting retail XP 2500+ £73.14
    and 2 x Corsair Value Select 256Mb DDR PC2700 £34.08

Also looking at a £30 - £40 case, w/o PSU, but cant decide

I have been working this order out for over 4 months lol. Im getting it from Scan, but if anyone knows where i can get the entire order cheaper, the knowledge would be welcome

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate ANY advice

Thanks, but i prfer to spend the £20 more and get a latest design one, its usualy safer otherwise i would buy second hand.

Why the Asus? you should really be looking at the Abit imho

    /flame on

edit: and don't buy that Corsair value DDR333, get Twinmos DDR400, much better value and will stand you in good stead if you later decide to start overclocking (inevitable imo) For a few pence more you could order this http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?a...7&GrpID=9&s=pl will be Twinmos branded with M-Tec chips on it, fine at the rated 400mhz but not much overclocking potential past that, rock solid at 333mhz should do CL2 at the lower speed too

Generally quite reliable! I had an Asus GF4, that was 'generally quite reliable' as well (apart from the GPU overheating all the time!)
The Abit board is very reliable, even when overclocked mine is rock solid, not one hickup in 3 months solid use
Bundled software is NOT the only difference between boards Dude. The Abit has the best range of features/accessories imo, more important than bundled software.

    Agent, sort this Guy out............

ok lol, tell me what 'general' features the Abit has over the Asus

I will start , the Asus has 2! YES, thats 2! Lan ports. I aint ever going to use 2..... but come on, I mean, it gives you double the chance of hitting the right socket when you are fiddling around the bakc of your computer lol

The problem is, at the moment my computer is in an old old, chieftec case, one 90 mm fan mount, square design, one all round metal cover which slides off, and yes, BEIGE ! Well not exactly, i sprayed it black , but its got scratches and stuff. Anyway, i aint going to be doing any lookingat it in that case .
Its gonna cost me £240 for what i want, maybe a bit more, and i just cant bring my self to spend even more on a new case, and even if i did, it wouldn't have a window. im thinking about getting a chieftec black

    http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=18097

but thats £45, without fans. The other option is a budget scan case, http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=34629 that has all the fans i need already, no window again, and its beige ! well greyish, but still nto exciting. I could always go for a http://web6.scan.co.uk/Products/Info.asp?WPID=49393 which has a window, and a couple of fans, but it aint no chieftec

So you had a sucky GF4, I don't really see how that makes the A7N8X bad.

Plenty of people running A7N8X's and loving them, me included. I'm also open to the fact the NF7-S is nice too, buy whatever, both are brill.

No rounded cables, red SATA cables however. But that's it funky cable wise.

The rest was just the extra ports that all boards come with.
