| Junior Senior Member | USB flash drive advice Christmas is coming and my father wants a 1GB USB flash drive for Christmas. Since it's a present, I'd like to get something that looks good. All of the USB flash drives I've found look rather cheap and are made of plastic. The flash drive equivelent of the LaCie F.A Porsche external HDD is what I'm ideally after. Does anyone know of any good looking USB flash drives with a metallic finish? I don't mind paying a premium. Thanks. |

| Sandisk Cruzer Profile Doesnt look like it's up for grab anywhere yet, but probably will before christmas, looks cool lol http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=2153 IMO i like the Corsair Voyager, it looks a bit dull but almost indestructable. |

| radix lecti | I'd second the advice about the corsair voyager - mines been with my on my motorbike, got wet got cold and its had no problems That and I have a horrible tendancy to drop things at the most inconvienient of times, and so its kinda handy that it bounces. The Sandisk looks quite nice, just wonder how long before I'd break the fingerprint scanner and consequently lose the use of it. | I use a 512MB Corsair Voyager, had it since just after it came out. Its brilliant, its got wet, thrown around, sat on, etc (It rarely leaves my pocket) and still works fine! Only "problems" that I've had is that the letters have started to fall off, and because the lid isnt attached to the body, people at college always hide it! |

| I would have to say a BAD thing about Corsairs. Mine died for no reason after 2 days and the replacement had just died after 2 weeks. Maybe its the batch, but if you go to Corsairs website's forum on the flash drive you'll see quite a lot of people have had the same problem. Woohoo now Assistant Manager! |

![]() You can't see from the picture but these drives have a rubber cap arrangement at each end with a thick rubber band up the sides (which is all the impact protection they have). You have to pull quite hard to stretch the rubber band enough to get the cap off. |
