Cheap case with quiet PSU needed! I am building my HTPC/server on a very tight budget! I have all the parts so far: - Abit KT7A-Raid - AMD Axia 1gig@1.33gig - HSF (with a small and thin 60mm fan) - IBM HDD (5400rpm thing) - M-Audio Revo sound card - Matrox G400 graphics - Toshiba 12x DVD - NIC - 2x USB devices - Macron 245w PSU The problem is that the PSU is very loud and the case has no airflow at all ![]() So basically what i'm after is a cheap case with a quiet PSU and i mean quiet! ![]() Any ideas at all? All suggestions are welcome!

The Suntek and Advance cases on special at microdirect look nice. http://www.microdirect.co.uk/default2.asp They both stealth you CD/DVD drives. One claims to have a temp controlled psu and the other a 300watt although I've heard suntek's psus are 'quiet'. The problem is one mans quiet is another mans noisy. p.s. this should really be in the bargain hunt forum.

How cheap is cheap?? You could get a cheapish case without a PSU, and then get a psu with adjustable fan (Enermax/Antec). You would only need a psu around the 300watt mark at the most, but those two manu. are pretty expensive and overkill for your needs. You could also consider a Zalman (silent?) PSU but they are also pretty expensive, or plump for a case designed for silent use, eg. Antec Sonata (sp?). PS. I don't think it should be in this forum or Bargain Hunt, it should be in the Case forum
