    mx518 high pitched noise

ok then i have quite good ears and i have noticed that when my mouse is in use it produces a very high pitched noise, close to the edge of my hearing range so i guess that i is just below 20khz. has anyone else noticed this? it can be anoying when i am doing work but i dont notice it when gaming or listening to music/watching films.

When i first opened this thread i was like "? noise from a mouse" but just put my ear right by it and yes when i move it i can hear a really high pitched noise, but its super quiet on mine in no way could you hear it under normal conditions.

Is it coming from the mouse or computer?

Sometimes if usb devices are plugged in the motherboards capacitators will "sing" and make a high pitched noise.

Try using the green port thingy .

If its coming from the mouse, RMA it to logitech. They have a great RMA service.

Just stuck my mx518 up to my ear, and, yup, there's a very faint high pitched whine - only if you put the top of the mouse right up to your ear, however.
Nothing as loud as my very whiney WD hard drives, though, which are the loudest things on this pc...........
