gigabyte dq6 vs asus p5b deluxe

I'm really tied up between gigabyte and asus. I know this has been somewhat inconclusively discussed before, but I've got different requirements for features. I will be doing some OC'ing, but it is likely that in the future I might add another video card to the system so that I can have 3+ displays. I also intend to use RAID (not just 0, maybe also 0+1). The DS3 only has one PCIE slot for video cards, so i won't be getting that. I've heard reports of the p5b RAID is finicky, or that the p5b is unstable under some configurations, but others who say it works perfectly fine. Some say the gigabyte boards oc better, while others say the asus boards do. I can't seem to find any consensus.

The only other component which I have committed to so far is my memory: i have 4gb (2x 2x1gb) crucial ballistix pc2-6400 ram coming in. I originally planned to have the e6600 core 2 duo, but I haven't ordered that yet so it still can be changed.

also, i've been hearing about the ds4--when is it going to come out in the states? I'm planning to finish my build soon.

I've pulled the trigger on it. P5b was my original choice, except i heard some people with bad experiences with it on the anandtech forums.

btw, there's a deal on the P5B Deluxe w/ Wifi @ chiefvalue.com. unfortunately, i don't have enough posts so you'll have to manually go to their site and look up "P5B"

    it's $179.99+$5 shippping = $184.99 shipped!

Just ordered p5b deluxe myself, my research suggested that the componentry (power supplies etc) was better quality than and the new BIOS has really improved its oc potential. Lots of analysis and comparisons on the hardcore websites like xbit and extremesystems.

I'm with Mama on Asus, they have always been great for me.

    Chnks
