| yet another media center problem! i have recently started getting a problem with windows media center 2005, when i am watching tv after about half an hour of watching a program the picture starts to stutter the sound stays ok its just the picture! it does not happen when i watch dvd's or avi's just when i am watching tv! at first i thought it might be a heat problem but i found that when the picture starts stuttering if i just exit media center to desktop and restart media center(not restarting pc just mce) its works ok again for about half an hour then starts stuttering again! i also thought it might be down to the decoder, i was using powerdvd7 but i am now using nvidia purevideo decoder and its still the same! i really need to get this problem sorted as my girlfriend is the one that mainly uses the media center and she is giving loads of grief to sort it out! so please help me out its doing my head in many thanks in advance! | I don't use MCE so i don't know if this will be of any help. Does MCE have a setting for the length of Timeshift? Is that set to half an hour? I guess it's possible that the system could be struggling to dump old video while still recording. Is the drive thrashing when the stuttering happens? What about launching task manager before MCE then when it does start to stutter, close MCE and see what Task Manager was saying about memory and CPU usage. |
