agree...and the best thing about Rick, excluding the very VERY cool Chalky (his dog, tothose who don't know) is that he admitted it needs CHIPS with it!

Thin string chips, but chips none the less.....itshow it was meant

Ah man, I never miss Rick Stein, even though I hate cooking. I've never yet got through an episode without some serious mouth watering occuring. I can do a pretty good impression of him going into a rant too....<gesticulates forcefully> "It just AMAZES me how the supermarkets in this country ignore SIMPLE, LOCAL produce like this that tastes SO GOOD....."<look of resigned anger and dispair>.

Didn't catch the show, but do have a couple of his books... signed of course.

I have to whole-heartedly reccomend his seafood book... its rocks big bells, good clear photos of how to prep the fish before you even start to cook it, and cracking good recipes too... nice book all round.

he's an absolute classic - I still remember one show where he was cooking a bbq on the beach - but he was below the high tide mark... in rushes the tide... out rushes dinner! hilarious!
