Brownie Recipie
Ok looking to make a moist, crunchy on top, chocolaty and nutty brownie.
I've tried a few times, the first it was more like a chocolate cake and far too dry (think i left it in too long) the last was ok but not like the ones you buy in the coffee shops etc. Cheers |

Re: Brownie Recipie
BBC - Food - Recipes - Triple chocolate brownies
Honestly, the best brownie recipe that I've ever made in my entire life. When you say moist - these are WET, melt on your tongue, crunchy on top jobs. I spent quite a lot of spare time this year trying out brownie recipes (including the other ones on the BBC site, a few American ones, Nigella's and James Martin's recipes), and that one is certainly my favourite. If you don't like the dense chocolatey meltiness, you can cook them for a bit longer for a more cakey texture. Shove some glace cherries in there for a bit of rocky road-type goodness too. -edit ... The forum automatically put the title of the URL in! How clever is that? ![]() |

Re: Brownie Recipie
I never know how to adjust recipes for fan assisted ovens, eg i only needed 15min out of 25min in the oven. If i'd left it in for 25 it'd have been extremely dry. Surely in todays world it'd be hard for a oven not to be fan assisted.
Ours is at least 10yrs old and is fan assisted, and works a treat. |

Re: Brownie Recipie
Ours is a relatively new (2 years old) fan assisted oven, and after 25 minutes it still comes out lovely and gooey.
I experimented once, and it took 40 minutes in the oven (at the prescribed temperature) before it started getting drier and more cakey. |

Re: Brownie Recipie
Thanks i'll give that a try and let you know how it goes, what quality of ingredients do you use? I used Green and Blacks coco powder, and decent chocolate chunks, however it made it more expensive, any choc to look for?

Re: Brownie Recipie
I just used regular ASDA dark chocolate. I'm not sure what percentage it is, or even it it counts it... but it's a red packet and comes in 150g bars, iirc!
