IMHO you really can't beat one of these... swiss gold filters

I've used them ever since my first year of uni, combined with a coffee of your chose (guatemala elephant is my favourite), I personally don't think there's an easier way of making an excellent cup of coffee

Strange. I never paid a single bit of postage the last time I bought 6 bags of the Hot Java Lava.

I will keep an eye on that in future. If not you can grab it from pretty much any M&S from memory. If not they have their own version of it.

I love the stuff but its a once a week treat for me on a Sunday morning. I make a whole 12 cup french press worth and then find the biggest cup and hammer the strong coffee. I drink tea most the week as it's free at work lol

AeroPress Aerobie, decent grinder and some good freshly ground beans.

    AeroPress:

I find this better than the Cafetiere and its as easy to clean as it gets

To be honest, I like my coffee but I prefer a decent cup of tea most the time.

Drank black coffee for years but it doesn't have a kick any more so stick to tea during the day and have a coffee in the morning.

I'm afraid I've never been able to see past a nice 3-cup caffetiere for real coffee in the office, and frankly it takes no longer to make than waiting for an individual filter to drip through. A bit of a PITA to clean afterwards, but had that nice "no extra wasted consumables" feel to it

That said, I'll willingly chug instant to get a caffeine fix (I'm not proud; I blame getting into coffee aged 9ish - I got into the habit of loading up with sugar at the same time and I've never been keen on good, strong coffee since ), or invest in a few bottles of Pepsi Max

My wife got a free sample Lyons coffee bag a couple of months ago. She took one sip and threw the rest of the cup away! She's somewhat more discerning than me, if you couldn't tell
