    What doesn't the wife/hubby let you have?

    On the food front I mean It's not that I can't have certain foods, it's just that Cathy doesn't like them so it would be too much of a faff. Anyways...

    Gooseberries
    Rhubarb
    Dark Greens
    Okra (Ladies Fingers/Gumbo)

    I am the cook at home and am not banned from anything, I do the banning , and basically the only fat allowed now really is olive oil apart from that I have to stop her Northern English love of fried food and dont want that about and wont buy a fryer. Only healthy stuff allowed these days.

    I don't ban anything but I won't buy lamb. If Barry wants to have lamb, he needs to buy it & cook it himself, as even the smell of it cooking makes me puke

    Other things, I don't even think about buying (selfish me!) are tomatoes, corned beef and probably some others that we (Barry & I) can't think of at mo, simply because I don't like them. Not that I don't buy them because of that, I just don't think about it

    you are missing out on corned beef and tomatoe sandwiches with mustard, salt and pepper! Grade A on thick cut fresh bread.

    Each to their own I suppose.. coooking lamb is one of the finest smells on the entire planet... it's bootiful...

    At the mooment tho, as for bannage of foods, anything goes, which is a *bit* slack really, but her indoors is on some low fat diet or something, which i have tried, and it doesn't seem so bad. If I went on it full time I'd miss me choccy terribly... the only thing we BOTH don't like is butter... can't stand the stuff... ok if it's cooked into things - some things wouldn't be right with out a good slab of butter in em, but raw, on bread?? ooh no thanks....

    Im not allowed garlic which makes bolognese (sp?) taste absolute crap IMO. Also pizza with no garlic bread!

    And its not like its a smell you can cover up after eating!

    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    I always do the cooking but my missus draws the line at salmon cooked under a very hot grill, which is one of my favourites. You can't beat a nice salmon fillet crisped up on top. She doesn't mind eating it, just the smell that goes through the house that she doesn't like.

    My other half won't eat lamb, which is a bit of a pain, since I really like it. She's finicky about sausages and allergic to salmon . On the other hand, anyone who brings mayonnaise anywhere NEAR me dies in the heartbeat that they do it...vile, disgusting stuff and a good reason to nuke mainland Europe if you ask me. Edit: Why do shops feel the need to plaster every single bloody ready-made sandwich that they do with mayonnaise?
    "I'd like a ham sandwich please"
    "Yes sir, that would be ham with our special mustard mayonnaise dressing..."
    "No, a ham sandwich. That would be a sandwich. With ham in it. Just ham. A ham sandwich."
    "Sorry...we don't do them"

    GRRRRRRRR....

    I read that as "....... which is a bit of a pain, because I really like her".
    Nothing like a man who likes his food

    As for me no one tells me what I cant eat apart from my mother when I'm at home . Basically thats just not to spicy for her and not too much coffee for me.

    I love fried liver. My other half refuses to come anywhere near the kitchen whilst its on the go. Lambs liver, gently fried with onions and fried tomatoes. Excellent.

    Don't the NSPCC have anything to say about that? Anyway, they're all fat, no meat on 'em!

    The only thing my lady doesnt like is when i eat a hotter curry than her......what with her being from Bangladesh and me being from the whitest, most potatoey village in east anglia. It really winds her up as when we met at Uni, i'd never even had a kebab, or anything stronger than a korma. Sometimes i ponder whether she is too competetive. Actually she doesnt like me having large kebabs either, at least not more than one.

    Last time we went to Wetherspoons ( not proud but u cant beat £1 gin and tonics by nottingham canal), we ended up getting a phal thinking it wouldn't be that hot given that it was, y'know... from wetherspoons. We were wrong.

    I won that day though. I only cried once.

    Do you think when Jesus comes back..... he ever wants to see another cross.......? *{God bless you Bill}
