Probably the easiest way is to go start lifting, just make sure you get lots of protein down you, (beans +soy stuff, ick) Although your mileage may vary, but when i go through my usual 'Fiddlesticks im getting skinny i need to start lifting again' phase i can put on around about 10 lbs or so in the first month, diminishing returns after.
Or theres always the other fun way to do it. SAUSAGE AND BACON SANDWICHES!!!! Yum.

Try protein shakes from a sports shop and do fewer heavy weights, rather than lots of reps. Make sure to stretch before and after or you'll get stiff. Eggs are good too if you allow yourself them.

In my ignorance I thought that high carb and sugar content would be the thing. The trouble with many high protein foods is that the often accompanied with high fats. Perhaps glucose drinks as well?
I'm a veggie and have no such problems ![]() Edit : - Banana sandwiches with sugar....mmmmmm

Be a bit careful about gaining weight without exercise. The weight gained will be purely from extra fat. It's much better to engage in weight training or any other form of anaerobic exercise and take a moderate amount of protein supplements (like the excellent Caselan 90 for example). The weight gained will be predominantly muscle tissue.
I use Caselan 90 (which is also suitable for vegetarians) and just sprinkle a couple of tablespoons over my cereal every morning. Most protein supplements taste absolutely disgusting if taken as a drink! You may also have a high metabolic rate causing you to be underweight for your height. Consider joining a gym, seeing a nutritionist or even your doctor before you make drastic changes to your body. One of the problems with putting on a lot of muscle is that it will work against your desire to gain weight! The extra muscle tissue will burn up more calories so you'll need to eat a lot more to compensate. But I still think that weight gain through building muscle tissue is healthier than weight gain through fat. |

Go for the shakes and artificial stuff then. Veg just doesn't have the materials you need to bulk up. You will only gain fat if you don't do lots of exercise as well though. i'm skinny and I eat s**tloads but don't gain a pound. I really need to hit the gym!
